Dr. Robledo

Melissa Robledo, M.D., graduated summa cum laude and phi beta kappa with a degree in Chemistry from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts.  She then completed her Doctorate of Medicine at The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.  Since completion of her residency Dr. Robledo earned double board certification.  She is a diplomat of The American Board of Internal Medicine and The American Board of Clinical LIpidology.  She is currently a member of The American College of Physicians, The American Lipid Association and The American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.  She is on the medical staff of Rush North Shore Medical Center and Lutheran General Hospital.

Dr. Robledo uniquely brings together an in-depth knowledge of Internal Medicine, advanced prevention services and cosmetic medicine.  She focuses on the prevention of cancer and cardiovascular events, as well as the treatment of lipid disorders, hypertension and mood disorders.  She is versed in dermatologic procedures, including biopsy and removal of unwanted growths, pre-cancerous and cancerous skin lesions.  In 2002, Dr. Robledo added aesthetic services to her repertoire, including laser treatments for hair, leg veins, facial veins, wrinkles and rosacea, as well as Botox Cosmetic and Restylane injections.

As the medical chair of Walgreens Health Initiatives Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, Dr. Robledo is in tune with the latest medications available to her patients.  Since 2001 she has shared her expertise of Internal Medicine to allow for the most clinically sound, safe and effective medications to be included in the formulary.  As part of her role with Walgreens, Dr. Robledo has recruited over 10 nationally recognized physicians and researchers, and helped produce some of the best disease management programs in cholesterol, diabetes and asthma, as well as medication safety programs for seniors enrolled in Part D Medicare prescription coverage plan.

Dr. Robledo is very hands-on with her patients.   She does many of the cosmetic procedures herself, gives her own vaccination shots, and at the end of the day, calls her patients with their test results.   She even makes the occasional house call for very ill patients.  Dr. Robledo has the personal touch and warmth of a home-town physician, blended beautifully with the state-of-the-art-knowledge and skills necessary to achieve the best of health, both internally and externally, for her patients.
