Hair Removal

 We have been removing hair for centuries - shaving, plucking, waxing, threading, bleaching, using depilatory creams, and undergoing electrolysis.  Of these methods, only electrolysis provides permanent results.  This method is painful, lengthy, and must be done for years and years.  Laser hair removal, or "permanent laser hair reduction," as it is defined by the FDA, is the other permanent method of hair removal.  We are born with the millions of hair follicles (or roots) that we will die with.  When hair is treated at the follicle, it dies and no longer grows hair.  This is exactly what laser hair removal acheives - and at a much faster rate than electrolysis.

 Leg Veins

There are many ways to treat troublesome leg veins.  These include sclerotherapy (when solution is injected through a needle into the vein to cause it to die), surgery, and laser treatment.  The size, the color, and the symptoms of the vein often determine the method necessary for treatment. 

When leg veins are large and "buldge" from the skin, they are called varicose veins.  These are often painful and can lead to leg swelling, blood clot or infection.  In the early stages, varicose veins are treated with support hose, leg elevation and exercise.  If they become painful options for treatment include sclerotherapy and surgical removal.

Spider veins are tiny capillaries that range in color from red to blue to deep purple.  Often hereditary, they can develop as young as adolescence and may worsen during pregnancy or other hormonal states.  Surgery is usually not necessary for treatment of spider veins.  They can be treated by sclerotherapy but because of the sheer number of vessels involved, this can become quite painful and time-consuming.  Laser treatment of spider veins is a fast, effective office procedure, that provides a non-invasive method to abolish those unsightly veins!
